BITTER ROOT POTTERY
CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Personal Space and Quiet - Most of us are here to relax and enjoy the therapeutic benefits pottery has to offer. Therefore, we must be considerate of other people’s personal space and their desire for quiet. Although we are a strong community and have embraced one another, we should use discretion before we immediately engage in conversation with other members.
2. Pot size/Pot limit - There are certain sized pots being thrown that are holding up the more average sized pieces in the kiln. As a result, there will be an additional charge for pots weighing over 10 lbs. In order to make firing an efficient process for members who are mostly throwing average sized pieces, we must impose this additional charge on the larger pots. We are not a production pottery studio and each member is limited to 15 pieces a month.
3. Shelves - Up until recently, we were able to accommodate members by providing additional shelves at no extra cost. At this time, we are growing rather quickly and can no longer allow multiple shelves to be used by a single member. If you are interested in renting more than one shelf, please contact management to discuss additional rates.
BITTER ROOT POTTERY CLEANING POLICY
Please clean your work space as you would your own home. It is basic courtesy for each individual to thoroughly wipe down their area. We are asking that you sponge off everything you use in order to help keep this studio a cleaner environment for all.
DISCLAIMER
For all one time classes or parties, we will keep your pottery item on the pick-up shelf for 30 days. After that 30 day period any unclaimed pottery will be donated to charity or discarded.
Bitter Root Pottery does not issue refunds! All memberships, classes and workshops are final sales. However, we try our best to accommodate our patrons and will offer fair solutions regarding any unforeseen conflicts that may arise.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of clay, things happen in the kiln that are beyond our control. If your piece is damaged in the kiln, we will attempt to fix it, however, we make no guarantees that your item will be re-stored.
